Get your fingers ready for the first annual indoor bouldering competition held at the Duluth Climbing Co-op! Introducing, Battle of the Hands! Registration is open up until the day before the comp – click the link below for the registration form!
Registration fee is $15 for co-op members, and $20 for non-members. Be sure to watch DCFC socials for information like sponsors and prizes!

Categories & Schedule
When signing up you are free to choose from 3 Categories. Please choose the one that describes you the best!
Recreational ~ V0 – V2 ~ For climbers that want to test their might and challenge their own skills! You can project pink routes and some Purple Routes.
Intermediate ~ V3 – V5 ~ For climbers that feel confident climbing challenging routes and can project Purple and some Yellow Routes.
Open ~ V6+ ~ For seasoned climbers that enjoy the strategy of competition Projecting Yellow and Red routes.
Schedule
You’ll have 3 hours total to check in warmup and complete your 6 climbs. Each group will have a different starting time to space out check in times. There will be a 2-hour break where the gym will be closed for the route setters to prepare the routes for the finals. At this time, you are free to leave and go get dinner and then be back to spectate the finals and closing ceremonies.
Recreational – Starts at 12:00 – 3:00
Intermediate 12:30 – 3:30
Open 1:00 – 4:00
GYM CLOSED for Finals setting 4:00 – 6:00
Finals 6:00pm – 7:30
Closing Ceremonies 7:30
Points & Rules
POINTS: Each route is worth up to 10 points! 1 point will be subtracted for every failed attempt. If you make it to the halfway checkpoint, you’ll automatically receive the minimum amount of points for the climb (5) regardless of attempts. So try as much as you like, your score can not go below the halfway point.
The top 4 Contestants in each category will move on to Finals and be eligible to win prizes!
RULES: An attempt begins when the Climber is completely on the wall, and it ends when any part of the Climber touches the mat again.
The Checkpoint will be counted when the climber establishes a controlled position on the checkpoint hold. A route shall be counted as completed when the Climber has control of the final hold with both hands.
Be Respectful Please share the wall with other climbers, take turns.
Be Safe Please use kind language towards other competitors, this should be an opportunity to grow closer together as a community.
Stay off the mats if you are not climbing, as well as be aware of Climber fall zones around you…look up!
There will be judges observing the competition to ensure all attempts and ascents are documented.
